A few notable projects from the Corpus Christi office include the following:
1. Floor & Decor Cedar Park
Floor & Decor in Cedar Park, Texas, is an 80,000-square-foot commercial flooring and fixtures store/warehouse. The Halff Corpus Christi team provided full civil engineering construction documents, including site plan, erosion and sedimentation control plan, grading plans, parking lot layout and paving plans, dimensional control, water distribution plans, wastewater collection system plans and storm sewer plans. Halff also provided construction phase administration services and landscape architecture design for the project. The site has over 200 parking spaces, truck docks, sidewalks, and ADA accessible routes and parking.
2. Harbor Bridge Parks Mitigation
This project involved project planning, conceptual design and preliminary design report to conduct park planning, needs assessments and conceptual design for four existing parks, associated trail connections and trailheads at each end of the new harbor bridge, known as the Harbor Bridge Parks Mitigation Project, as well as a preliminary design report for those improvements for the City of Corpus Christi. The goal was to link the parks together and provide a destination character for the future bridge trailhead.
3. Starlite Lane
The Starlite Lane Reconstruction project consists of a 1.4-mile full depth reconstruction of Starlite Lane from Violet Road (TxDOT FM 24) to Leopard Street, including traffic signage and striping, accessible pedestrian routes, and street lighting along the entire length of the project. The existing roadway is located in northwest Corpus Christi and is a part of the Bond 2022 program. Starlite Lane also includes the full replacement of underground storm sewer and utilities including water, wastewater and gas. Services included survey, drainage analysis and modeling, reports, subsurface utility engineering (SUE) and utility coordination, pavement assessment and more. Halff provided full surveying and SUE services for this contract, utilizing in-house resources and company-owned equipment, inclusive of vacuum trucks. This allowed Halff to expedite services to the city without additional subconsultant markups.
