The Statewide Base Level Engineering project represents a groundbreaking milestone initiative by the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) in partnership with five consultants (Halff, AECOM, AtkinsRealis, Freese and Nichols, and Stantec) aimed at transforming flood risk management in Texas. BLE’s data and success will help communities and authorities understand and prepare for flooding at a local and statewide level.

The RM 620 (Round Rock Avenue) Railroad Overpass and Roundabout project successfully achieved a vision and collaborative efforts of multiple agencies, resulting in a solution that transformed a congested roadway into a safer, more efficient corridor, balancing infrastructure needs with community impact. Halff’s innovative design and collaboration set a new standard for future development, enhancing the quality of life for all stakeholders.

Brazos Bend State Park in Needville, Texas, spans 5,000 acres and attracts more than 250,000 visitors annually. This beloved park, featuring seven lakes and diverse wildlife, faced significant flooding and erosion issues stemming from the Memorial Day floods in 2016 and Hurricane Harvey in 2017. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) partnered with Halff to address these challenges and preserve the park’s natural state and amenities.

The ACEC Texas EEA competition has been held since 1975 to honor and recognize outstanding achievements within the engineering community.

A distinguished panel of judges from around the state selected 13 gold medal and six silver medal-winning projects from 39 entries based on uniqueness, originality, value to the engineering profession, complexity, and how successfully the project met the needs of the client.

Halff collected 23 project awards in 2024 and has received 20-plus project recognitions in each of the last three years.
